Bedroom Beauty Challenge || Love

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

It's 12.50pm on Wednesday. I just spent 40 minutes trying to create my 'Love' look for this months challenge and gave up. I feel very numb today.

Click HERE if you have no idea what I'm bleating on about.

I found out last night that on Friday, my precious cat Mindy is being put down and I feel like I've had the joy sucked out of me. If you're a pet owner or cat lover, I'm sure you'll understand that a pet becomes a huge part of your life and you love them like you love your children.

I did start my look, I got all the way to eyeshadow and just thought, 'Why am I forcing myself to do this? I'm not a robot, I'm not a slave to my blog, I'm a human and I have feelings and a real life and I don't need to do this if my heart isn't in it'. So, I'm bowing out.

If you created something beautiful and took part, I'm so glad. I'm glad that even if I'm having a very low moment, there are Sprinklerinos around to spread their glitter on my behalf.

If you did take part this month, leave your blog url below or tweet/facebook/tumblr me your pictures so I can have a nosey and be very proud.

I actually have to go and dig Mindy a little grave now whilst it's sunny.  - Weirdest thing I've ever written on this blog!

I know this blog post doesn't offer you much, but today, life got in the way.

Toodlepip.

This blog post is not having the usual advertising sentence on it. Let's all just wish Mindy a good send off to kitty heaven.

Baby Glitter Haul

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Since you all loved my new Baby Style post, I went kerazy and made a full length video featuring all the lovely pieces I have bought Baby Glitter for the Spring/Summer season.

If you are on the ball in YouTube world then you may well have seen it, but if not, here it is for your viewing pleasure- oh la la.

Hopefully I can get a few nice shots of her wearing some of the clothes and if I do, I'll be sure to blog about them!

If you're struggling to watch the embedded version, please click HERE to be taken through to YouTube.

Did you see anything in there that you liked?

Master Bedroom Reveal!

Good day all!

Today's the day, I finally get to share our master bedroom with you. When we first moved into the apartment we simply put up the huge Cal-King bed and that's basically it. To tell you the truth, it felt very cold and boring but it got the job done. After all, the most important this was having a place to lay our head every night.  Even though it was purely functional, I at least made sure the bed was made. (Trying to find a reason to pat myself on the back right now.) Here's the starting point...

And here we are now... so much more welcoming.

Another before showing the horrible state of my side on the right.

And after...

This the table and skirt I made. I think it turned out pretty cute. I like the feminine touch it adds to my side.

Across from the bed is my dresser. In this picture you can also see the curtain I sewed with burlap trim.

I plan on adding more decorative storage up here because I have more jewelry I would like to display.

The mannequin that's holding some of my earrings now was a gift from my niece. Sweet right.

Thanks for the patience... hope it was worth the wait. It looks like I'll be tackling the breakfast nook next, per the hubby's request.

How To :: Colour Glass Jars

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Remember back in the olden days when I was Mrs Loved To Craft? Well, the other day she was back! back with a painty-inspired-by-pinterest venom!

How To Colour Glass Jars

Now, before all you DIY goddesses throw down your PVA in anger, yes, I know there is more than one way to colour glass jars and I think all of them are lovely. This way however, is with acrylic paint and is beyond simple. I like simple.

How to colour glass jars

Gather your clean, dry glass jars.

Generously pour acrylic paint (I bought mine from Hobbycraft) into the bottom and if you can, round the edges INSIDE.

Roll/twist the jar about to encourage paint to coat the inside completely.

On newspaper or a surface you're happy to ruin, leave the jars upside down to finish the inner coating and let the excess paint drain out.

Leave to dry and add contents.

Voila!

Do you think this is something you'll try? Think of the possibilities!!

Motivational Monday #4

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

In life, it seems normal to spend vast amounts of time mapping out our lives and deciding on the paths we must take. I am a regular mapper myself. Do your exams, graduate, find a nice man, buy a house, get married, have a baby, check, check, check and check. Then what?

Motivational Monday | Sprinkle of Glitter blog

Sometimes we make plans for ourselves and they work like clockwork. Sometimes they fall to absolute pieces and we are beside ourselves with grief, sadness, frustration or loss. In times like this, the world can feel like it's caving in on itself and you have no options, or that the options you do have are pretty diar.

As someone who has been in situations where you feel there is no way out or where you feel you have lost your way and can't see the wood for the trees, I know how frightening and distressing that can feel. From experience, I also know that is is not necessary to feel this way. There are always other options, there are always other paths.

'Other path' absolutely does not mean 'wrong path'. It's all too easy to feel that if you change your path you are failing or making a mistake, but in actual fact you are just changing your direction but carrying on your journey, with all it's winds and twists, and that's alright.

It's OK to worry and over think which direction you should take in your life, as long as you do keep walking down your path. The only mistake would be stopping.

I hope this strikes a positive note with anyone who is feeling a bit lost or are searching for their 'Plan B'. If not, below are the rest of February's Motivational Monday's to put a bit of pep in your step.

Baby Style || Spy Mac and Studs

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Last week Matt and I had a mooch round Milton Keynes to fill a few hours and I picked up a couple of bits of Baby Glitter that I simply couldn't not share.

I buy her so many nice things (naughty Mummy), that I have decided to try and do a few of these Baby Style posts over the next few months. The real challenge is getting her to stand still for a moment!!

Baby Style

Rustic Flower Clips :: Accessorize Angels
Purchased years ago

Beige Mackintosh :: Zara Baby
£22.99

Indigo Jeggings :: Primark
£4

Studded Tan Plimsoll :: Zara Baby
£17.99

What I love most about this outfit is the tiny bows on the sleeves of the coat. I have a jacket very similar and think the little bows give the item a more babylike feel to it, which is nice. I bought it a wee bit big because Baby Glitter grows like a sunflower and I'd like her to enjoy it for as long as possible. The lining inside is light blue quilting.

The jeggings are also great. I have bought the same pair (but smaller) in the past and Darcy finds them comfortable and easy to play in. Now that she is so active, I really want her to not be in the least bit restricted by her clothes. Tots need to be free!

If this is a feature you'd like to see on a more regular basis, I'll be sure to take close up photographs of the garments too so you can get a real feel for them.

Where is your favourite place to buy little people clothes? Do you half wish you could fit in an 18-24 months just so you could wear that coat? I think I do!
