Curvy Autumn Lookbook

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Remember my Curvy Summer Lookbook that I made a few months back? Well, with the changing seasons and warmer clothes, I made a new one! Hurray!

I really enjoy making these kind of videos and have plans to make another one of Baby Glitter soon. Last year we made THIS Christmas Lookbook, so hopefully she'll let me film another!!

What sort of clothes are you loving at the moment?

Autumn Activities

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Oh yeah, I'm getting Autumnal up in yo' faces again. I just can't help myself.

With a serious lust for the golden leafed season, I took to Pinterest to find inspiration for sweet and easy little projects that I can do by myself or with my Baby Glitter to bring a bit more Autumn into the home.

If you would like to see the original articles that all of these images came from, HERE is the link to the board and you can go show them some luurrvvvee. Oh I'm feeling sassy today!

I would never have thought to put leaves in vases the way you do flowers but set against the blue, this is a gorgeous look. As luck would have it, I have some blue glassware so I'm excited to collect my foliage! (Did I just say 'foliage'?)

Easy and cheerful. Matt and Darcy will both love this. Use a sharpie to ensure the pen marks don't smudge off.

I am a chronic glass jar saver so I know what I'm going to do with them this week!

I love alternatives to carving pumpkins as I simply cannot deal with the mess and smell -urgh. This idea is super cute, easy and appeals to the crafty Mama. It's also something the tiniest of hands can get involved in.

I'm not a big caramel fan but I'm going to use this as inspiration and find something to put in hollowed out apples to dip. I'm thinking maybe peanut butter?

Darcy would absolutely love this and it would be so easy to make. Not only would it be fun for her but it would also open up opportunities to learn new vocabulary and experience new textures.

If I give some of these a go I will be sure to report back on how well they went. Would you be interested in trying any of these out? What kind of things do you do project-wise at this time of year?

Autumn Playmates

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

With Autumn in full swing we have taken to fully embracing it and being out and about as much as possible. Last week we took our friend's two beautiful Daughter's and Darcy to our local park for a bit of an explore and a run about.

It was so lovely watching Baby Glitter interact with other children and let go of my hand to pursue her own interests. Granted she wasn't going far but it was interesting to see what she wanted to do when she could make her own choices (instead of me guiding her).

We are really thankful to have such sweet little friends in our lives and look forward to more days like this before it gets really really cold!

What kind of things do you like to do with little ones in the Autumn. I'm all ears for activity suggestions!

Oh September

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Oh, September you beautiful month, you have finally rolled round and I sincerely hope you bring us as much fun, fizz and adventure that August did.

September

I say it every single year and this year will be no different. I LOVE SEPTEMBER.

Good things happen in September. Crisp mornings, golden leaves, cosy nights, purple nail polish, potato gratin, fairy lights and new coats are all things I associate with this month.

Whilst I still have a few summer posts left to put up (would you like a giant Summer Summary?) I am so excited for this Autumn. I have so many hopes and dreams for it and would love to share them with you as each one is ticked off my list. I want to further develop my YouTube channel, continue to be relaxed about blogging (I'm finding so much more zest for it when I remove all the pressure), try a few pinterest craft projects with Darcy, revamp my wardrobe, film more vlogs for my second channel, spend more time with friends, exercise more (or at all!!) and organise my office.

What do you want to achieve this September? Do you have anything exciting coming up?

Last year I had THIS to say about the start of September.

Autumn Bucket List || Marie BitsandClips

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

I've mentioned her about six hundred and forty times in my YouTube videos, but I have a great friend called Marie. She lives in America with her Husband, Bambino and Mama and has a fantastic channel which you'd be a fool not to subscribe to.

Recently, Marie set up a blog so that she can share more of her passions with you all, and as a fellow Autumn Lover, has set up a new feature that I couldn't wait to get involved in. All the rules of it are HERE, so if you would like to get involved, head on over and join in with the fun!

As part of Marie's feature, I have chosen 'MakeUp'. Surprise, surprise!

This is a still from a video that I filmed for my YouTube Channel as I was feeling particularly Autumnal that day. I wish, wish, wish I'd done some 'proper' FOTD shots but I'm still pleased with this. Woop.

I opted for rusty eye shadows (MAC Crystal Avalanche, Amber Lights and Antiqued), black liquid liner), a touch of bronzer and Revlon Stain Balm in Flame. I think the orange and copper is tres pumpkin-esque and is a look I find myself coming back to every October. Team all that with red nails and a cosy jumper and you're all set for brisk walks in crunchy leaves and cosy TV nights with the man in your life- what bliss.

I know it seems a little melodramatic to say that a splash of orange lipstick makes me feel differently, but I really do believe that when you look a certain way, it can go far towards making you feel a certain way.

Autumn my most favourite time of the year so I am loving incorporating it into Glitter World. If you would like to join in with this feature, or even just have a mooch round Marie's blog (you'll love it), then HERE'S the link again.

What's you're favourite part of fall? Let's get cosy in the comments!

My Autumn

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

It's a fact I touch on every year, but I LOVE Autumn. It is by far and above my most favourite time of year and there is nothing about it that I resent.

(Warning :: Going to brag now- I took this photo myself!)

I feel like when the air crispens and the leaves turn orange, there is a sense of hope and a fresh start at things. I find myself making new routines, adhering to old traditions (pizza on a Saturday night and candles lit in the porch of an evening) and generally feeling like I have a new lease of life.

To me, Autumn starts when school starts and with Matt being a Teacher, our household calender still does follow the acedemic year. I quite like it.

Now that we have a little mini human in our lives, Autumn is all the more special and recently I have been thinking about things I am looking forward to doing as a family and alone and thought it might be fun to share them with you.

1. Walking Darcy in the big pram. We have a little grey easy-to-fold pushchair for chucking in the car but we also have a lovely big padded, cushy, cosy Silver Cross pram that I adore bundling Baby Glitter into and taking her for walks. I can't wait to pull on my brown boots, throw on a big coat, wrap her up in a woollen bobble hat and take her to the swings.

2. Wearing Purple. To me, Autumn is the season of purple! Purple nail polish, purple cardigans, purple eyeliner, everything. Bring it on!

3. Sunday Night TV. Is there anything quite like having a delicious hot dinner, lighting the fire, drawing the curtains, snuggling down in jogging bottoms and watching things like Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs? I don't think there is.

4. Craft Fayres. At this time of year there seem to be an abundance of things like Farmers Markets, Antique Shows and Craft Fayres. I really enjoy rummaging through dinky little ornaments or buying unusual cheeses to take home and treasure/devour.

5. The promise of Christmas. Let's face it, I'm already thinking about December the 25th and I'm not even ashamed. It's the 'most wonderful tiiiiimmmme, of the year', so Autumn is like an excited run up to it!

Those were just a few of my favourite things about Autumn but chances are, as I get wrapped up in crispy orange leaf fever, I will share more. Today I asked you on Twitter and Facebook what your favourite things were so there's a blog post to come on that too!

Do you love this time of year as much as I do?

River Island A/W Collection 2012

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

If you read/watch my OOTD's and hauls, you will know I am a big of a fan of River Island. I love that their clothes always fit nicely and swoon over the large handbags. Why oh why I didn't buy the mint green satchel bag in March I do not know....it still haunts me ahahaha.

When the lovely PR lady that works for them contacted me and asked if I would like to share a short video about what's coming up for the Autumn season (my all time favourite time of year), I said yes, yes, yes!

I was provided with some information about the new range too but knowing I would never be able to express it as well as this, I have quoted it below for you. Hurrah!

From the shadows of Futuristic Goth, the streets of Downtown New York and the opulent textures and fabrics of the Baroque era, River Island creates a lavish and distinctive look for autumn/winter 2012.
The collection encompasses a wide range of unique hero pieces reflecting this season’s trends with accessories remaining a focal point, fusing together all the elements necessary for the season ahead.

Think Downtown with its relaxed styling, with oversized swagger coats layered over geo printed and graphic intarsia knits. Baroque with its tough leathers and wet look fabrics and Futuristic Goth with it's  medieval inspired black velvet, delicate lace, sheer and chiffon pieces. With River Island Autumn Winter never looked so good!

I'm so excited for all the Autumn fabrics and colours to hit the shops and for the weather to cool down a little (sorry if you're a summer baby haha!).

I also have a lorra lorra Autumn related posts lined up because I just go crazy for everything at this time of year so we have exciting times ahead!!

What do you look forward to in Autumn?
