How To Look Average

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

After last weeks oh-so-serious video, it was time for a little light relief.

I have wanted to do an 'Everyday Makeup Routine' for a long time but really, it's been done. Every beauty youtuber and their cat seem to have done one and to be honest, they have done better jobs than I could do. Rather than join the masses and do something the same way as everyone else, I took a more realistic approach- although I still lit the obligatory 'beauty guru' candles!

I hope you like it and can relate, I think we all have days like these! Haha!

What beauty tips do you have that I could slot into my everyday makeup routine? Sharing's caring!!

Beauty Review || EOS Lip Balm

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Ever since EOS lip balms burst onto the scene a few years back, I have been wanting to try one. Intrigued by the shape, the amazing claims of super soft lips from the blends of oils, vitamins and butters I was one eager beaver.

Fortunately, I was recently gifted some (by my lovely friend Marie and also by some very kind viewers in America) and have been using them everyday. So, I'm now ready to share my thoughts with you.

EOS vs Balmi Lip Balm

EOS vs Balmi Lip Balm

I'll keep this short and sweet.

I like EOS Lip Balms. I enjoy the packaging and the shape of the balm pleases me. The scent is pleasant and for the amount of product you get, I think the American prices are superb (I have seen them in Target for $2.99, which I think is about £1.80). However, since they are hard to come by in the United Kingdom, prices are a little crazy. I have seen this particular flavour -Strawberry Sorbet- retail for £13.99 on Amazon. Crazy! I also recall seeing these in the Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in Liverpool but didn't note the price.

What I will say though is that I have been spoilt by another product, the Balmi. Reviewed last year HERE, I am yet to find a lip moisturiser that I love more. I'll be pretty sad when I run out of my current stash.

So, to sum up, I think the EOS Lip Balm is great, I'm happy and grateful for the ones I have, I will definitely use all of the product. However, if I were in a shop and both the EOS and the Balmi were on the shelf, I think I'd reach for the latter.

What do you think? Have you tried both? What do you do to keep your lips soft and smooshy?

Motivational Monday #14

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Wooohoooo another Monday. Another fresh start and another opportunity to achieve all your goals.

Motivational Monday | Sprinkle of Glitter
(Image : Pinterest)

Week on week I talk about things that I think will make a positive impact upon your day and every Monday you leave such lovely comments in the below section (ooer) about how you feel better. I LOVE that.

I think the key to a lot of life's challenges is positivity. Where there is a positive attitude, the rest just kind of falls into place. For example, you've gone to a restaurant and ordered a new dish in the hope that you will like it and when it arrives, you find you don't. We've all been there. The negative attitude will tell you that the meal is ruined and everyone else is having a better time than you with their delicious food and you're hungry and everything is crappy. The positive attitude will tell you that at least now you know you don't enjoy that dish, you have experienced something new and will know in the future that you don't like the risotto at Zizis (or is that just me?). Yes, you're going to have to order and potentially pay for something new, but it isn't the end of the world if you don't allow it to be.

What I'm trying to say is that you have the power and the ability to control these situations with your attitude. You are able to make those changes and you are able to improve practically any situation you are ever in by being positive about things. Naturally there will be times that simply are downright sh*t, and they are to be respected, but for the most part, you can make such a difference if you allow yourself to.

So, this week, let's focus on training our minds to see the positives. I would love it if in the comments you told me a few things that are positive in your life at the moment or things that you are going to do today and view in a positive light.

Looking forward to being uplifted!

Afternoon Tea at Fawsley Hall

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Last weekend I had a super family friendly day but the week after it was adults and sophistication all the way!

My chum Clare : Liverpool. Heh heh, see what I did there?

Since I don't like tea, I was served hot chocolate. The greatest hot chocolate I have ever tasted.

Afternoon Tea at Fawsley Hall

My great chum Clare (my 'Fusband' Mark's beautiful wife) and my Husband Matt treated me to champagne afternoon tea at Fawsley Hall in rural Northamptonshire. Whilst we were there I took quite a few photos. Once home I cried because I realised most of them were ruined because I had my exposure set way too high. I'm dramatic like that. Fortunately, not all was lost at sea and lots of them turned out fine, I think I was just having a tearful moment, haha.

If you ever have the opportunity to visit the hall and the grounds, take it. It really is a beautiful place to go and is made all the more beautiful by the people I visited with- nawww. The food was gorgeous (even for a picky eater like me) and the surroundings lovely. Whilst we nibbled and drank (the rather intoxicating bubbly!) we were serenaded by a real life violinist. It was like something out of Downton Abbey but with less corsets and more denim.

All in all, top marks to Mark and Clare for taking me somewhere so lovely. It was really refreshing to have an afternoon away from children. I know, that sounds so harsh, but very occasionally it's nice to be completely adult and enjoy a sophisticated hot chocolate and a sandwich with the crusts cut off ;)

I'm absolutely loving writing these Friday lifestyle posts as it encourages me to photograph the my adventures and then I can always remember them. Plus, you lovely lot are able to come along on the fun too!

Have you ever been to somewhere like this? Do you have any suggestions for me and everyone that reads the comments? Share, share, share!

Bourjois Goodie Bag

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Last week I wrote THIS about a recent work day I had in London attending blogger events. When I first started blogging, many moons ago, one of my favourite things to see on blogs were the goodie bags people were sent home with (I'm nosey like that) so I thought I would harp back to those days and show you mine.

Please note that this isn't bragging or showing off, I just figured that if one person (me) likes these sorts of posts, then other people (you), might like them too. It's not a review, just a 'ooohh look, purddyyy' dealio. Plus, I like looking at eye candy pictures of makeup.

For me, the highlight of this collection is the blue 1 second nail polish. I'm not sure it did dry in one second but it was chip free for a good 4 days, beautiful to apply thanks to the flat ended brush and generated a heap of compliments- what more do you want in a polish?

I'm excited by the cream blushes, apprehensive of the powder ones (never had much luck with the colour pay off) and intrigued by the bronzing products. I love a bit o' bronze in the summer months. Who am I kidding? I love a bit o' bronze in all the months!

If any of these products really impress or really disappoint, I'll be sure to write a review and let you know.

What experiences have you had with Bourjois products? Do you have any recommendations?
