Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Trick or Treat?

Treat of course!

Halloween is fast approaching and those good eggs at Lush have conjured up some brand spanking new potions for us to get our mitts on. Squee!

A blog post on the Halloween collection from Lush Cosmetics.

Today I'm going to talk you through the items available, most are newbies, but you might notice the odd return due to popular demand.

Northern Lights Bath Bomb (NEW!) - £3.50
Familiar with their Christmas Eve fragrance? Well you'll ruddy love this, filled with Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang this little beauty fills your bath like the night sky, creating blue and green colours whilst some added popping candy jumps through the water. You could quite easily be viewing the Northern Lights from your bathroom! Ooh-err.

Sparkler Bath Bomb (NEW!) - £3.50
Not only is this one a must have for Halloween it's title makes it pretty appropriate for Bonfire night too, non? With a golden colouring and popping candy it gives off bright glittery fireworks. And with Organic Rose fragrance it's also going to give heaps of moisture and nourish the skin - winner.

How pretty? The specks of gold lustre will fill your bathtub and with an uplifting fragrance of Orange Flower Absolute, hints of Juniper Berry and Lime Oils you can't really go wrong. Plus, did you know Orange Flower Absolute helps to tone the skin? Oh yes.

Back for another year you might already have this in your stash. If not, you'll be pleased to know this little devil turns your water in to a wine colour 'chin-chin' with scents of Vanilla and Black Pepper - mm hmm.

Wizard Bubble Bar (NEW!)- £3.25
Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen? (kittens aside) He's full with popping candy, so simply crumble him under the tap and release heavenly scents of Juniper Berry, Tangerine and Ylang Ylang Oil - Puuurfection (see what I did there?)

Wizard Hat Gift (NEW! includes: Wizard Bubble Bar, Star Light Star Bright Bath Melt; Sparkler Bath Bomb): £12.95
What's this then?! A proper lovely little treat of wizard-y goodness, that's what.

Fairy Ring Soap (NEW!)- £4.10
Have you tried out Lush's new Gorilla Volume 3 perfume? Well this fairy is full of just that! Containing Shiitake mushrooms - I know, mushrooms in a soap, heaven forbid. BUT, they contain anti-ageing properties as they're full of Kojic Acid which means I can't wait to try it. Hey there younger, fresher looking skin! I'm comin' for ya...

It's no secret that Lush are one of my favourite places to have a good old splurge - so needless to say I'll be relaxing in some pretty exciting baths over the next few weeks.
Most of these goodies are limited edition and only available through Halloween to Christmas...so you'll have to purchase now to avoid disappointment!

Motivational Monday || Goals

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Merry Monday! How was your weekend? Refreshing I hope. Let's look toward the new week with positivity.

I saw this quote and it struck a chord with me. I spend a lot of time making plans and mapping out things I want to do. A lot of the time I actually see them through but of course there are still those things that continue to linger on the 'to-do' list.

This week I want to spend some proper time thinking about what I want to achieve (for example, I want to photograph all my favourite little streets in London with my big girl camera, I want to take time to visit my friend Faye in Yorkshire, I want to book a massage etc), set some time targets and do them!

It would be unrealistic to manage all of those in one week but my goal is to have them thought about properly and maybe booked in.

Is there anything in your life that you have been meaning to do but never have? Take this opportunity to make a note of them. Make a note and have a think about what steps you could take to make those plans a reality.

Your life will carry on plodding no matter what you do with it. You may as well fill it with happies, huh?

I'm off to google spas within a 10 mile radius!

NEW || The Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

I've spoken about it before - cleansing. We have a love hate relationship: I love cleansing, but rarely before bed #badbeautyblogger.

BUT, that said I've got a brand new addition to the family and boy am I excited to give it a whirl.

Let me introduce to you Clinique's sparkly Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush *catches breath*. We all know a girl loves a thorough cleanse and that's exactly what this little beauty promises.

If you're not familiar with the whole 'Cleansing Brush' concept, let me get you up to speed. In a nutshell it's an electronic toy (ahem) of greatness, aimed to gently exfoliate and deeply cleanse the skin, removing more dirt, makeup and oil than manual cleansing. You use it alongside a cleanser of your choice and the rest is history.

Sounds like a winner, right? Well, there's more...

Made up of two strengths of rounded bristles, the pale green are shorter, with angled tips to help you reach those pesky areas that are prone to excess oil and clogging of your pores, i.e. the terrible t-zone.  And secondly the white bristles, that are softer and less firm make it ideal for the more sensitive, delicate areas of the face. One of the first things I noticed about the brush was how unbelievably soft the head of the brush was, meaning it's probably going to be suitable for even the most sensitive of skin. Yay!

With a waterproof design, you can use it in the shower (always up for killing two birds with one stone, thank you very much!) and 3 hour battery life mean it's perfect for taking on trips away - which will be great for when I'm away in London as we all know we're prone to a dirty face in the big smoke!

Finally, the self timer shuts the cleanser off after 30 seconds - which is apparently the perfect amount of time to sufficiently cleanse your face. However, once your skin accustoms to the change you can up it to 1 minute - very snazzy.

Honesty || Motivational Monday

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Merry Monday my little glitterballs. Did you have a good weekend? Did you spend any time last week working on seeing the good in bad? I did.

This week we are talking about honesty.

Image from Pinterest.

Honesty is a funny one.

I would describe myself as fairy honest but really, am I? Is anyone? We all know the basics- don't tell lies, don't steal, don't cheat, but what about- say how you feel, accept your own feelings, go with your heart?

The latter are the hard ones. It's a fine line to walk between keeping something in because you are protecting someone (maybe yourself) and just saying what's on your mind and damn the consequences.

I am a worrier. A people worrier to be precise. I worry that I will upset, anger or offend and so keep thoughts, feelings and concerns to myself. Sometimes this works well because I avoid a whole heap o' drama, but sometimes I just end up hurt or confused.

I didn't mean to be honest this week but I was. I had several encounters with people where I just thought, (and do excuse my language), 'fuck it, I'm not playing games with anyone, least of all myself'.

It. Was. Great.

Well, some of it was haha. Some of it ended in tears, some of it ended in a slight red face, some of it ended in a really happy face and some of it ended in ease.

Regardless of the varied results, I'm really glad. I feel secure and content. I've had a lot of confusion in my life for the past few months and haven't enjoyed endless guessing games and communication breakdowns. They suck. Even if you don't get the answer you want, at least you know it's the honest answer and you can't really ask for more than that. And, sometimes, it goes pretty well!

This week I urge you to be honest. Mostly with yourself. Is there anything in your life that is confusing or could become confusing? Take a step to add more honesty to the situation and see how you feel. Be realistic and be prepared to accept the consequences but have the strength to do it.

You don't have to go gaga and declare your undying love for the guy in accounts, but maybe invite him out for a coffee. What have you got to loose? Dignity always grows back with time ;)

Good luck on your quests, let me know in the comments how it goes or if you have any examples of doing this before!
